Thought Number 1: I love having opinions about films and TV shows that I haven’t seen and that I will probably never see. Like Emily In Paris, how the fork a show that has been thrashed so much gets a nomination at the Golden Globes? I am really hoping Oscars can do a better job with their TV section.
Thought Number 2: Sometimes I feel like I am way more interested in career journeys of already accomplished celebrities than mine. Like, I am thinking what’s next for B.J. Novak after The Office. I mean I know he did some stuff: he was one of the Inglorious Basterds and wrote a few books and so on, but what is next for him? What will be his next glorious comeback?
Thought Number 3: Also, Hasan Minhaj! Patriot Act ended and I know it has not even been a year. But I wonder, what’s next for him?
Thought Number 4: I love thrashing social media, I can list like five hundred different things that are wrong with Instagram from a sociological, political, anthropological, psychological, and astrophysical point of view. Ok, maybe not the last one. However, when it comes to YouTube, I just get so protective. I think YouTube is hands down the best social media platform and the only type of rabbit hole that’s acceptable (that’s a controversial statement! I am aware). And if you try to convince me that Instagram, Facebook, YouTube they all use the same business model of addiction, I will cover my ears and blow you raspberries, because I just love YouTube. Am I being hypocritical?
Thought Number 5: Now seems like an appropriate time to have a random thought about food. (In Andy’s voice from The Office doing a British accent): I like Tomatoes. Tomatoes are good.
Thought Number 6: I love my air pods. I don’t just love them, I ADORE them. They keep me company during my walks and they are great to block the everyday noise in my house during my zoom meetings. I always feared that I would lose one of them. And it finally happened. I dropped one of them during one of the few weeks of the year where there is snow everywhere in Northern Virginia. To help you put it in perspective: the color of my air pods is white, and the color of snow is also white. *
Thought Number 7: Documentaries are fantastic! Honestly though. Whenever I watch a documentary, I feel like I am not the same person anymore. My horizons are broadened and that I improved myself somehow. I promise to watch more of them because they are just awesome. Then I just forget and don’t watch any for three months.
Thought Number 8: A short video of The Good Place cast reacting to the twist at the end of the first season is the cutest thing ever. If you haven’t seen the show yet, number one you are evidently a loser and number two spoiler alert!
Thought Number 9: If I was a writer on SNL, which would never happen because no recruiter is THAT stupid, I would get no work done. I would just sit in my office, or whatever equivalent they have there, and watch previous SNL sketches for “inspiration” and just waste the entire day.
Thought Number 10: I have not seen the British version of The Office, aka The Original, and I want to, but I am afraid that I would not enjoy it. I know myself that I could not help but compare it to the American version, and heavily criticize it, and then feel like a fool, because if that show wasn’t created, the other would not exist either:/
Thought Number 11: I have never understood why the public restroom doors in America have very tiny doors.
Thought Number 12: I recently taught my 2nd grader sister how to copy and paste on her laptop (yes, she has a laptop. Who doesn’t have a laptop in this time and age? C’mon!) and she said, and I quote “Wow.” Now I feel like a cool nanny.
Thought Number 13: The existence of this random thought is to show that I do not fear the number 13, contrary to popular belief. And I am not afraid to stop at thought number thirteen. Unlike hotels. Like, GROW UP!!
Thought Number 14: And that’s all of my thoughts!
*Update: Mom found the lost air pod after the snow melted!
